Our ranch isn’t just a place to park—it’s your front-row seat to one of the most sacred and spectacular landscapes in the American Southwest. Sharing a border with Chimney Rock National Monument, we offer a unique opportunity to camp in the shadow of 1,000 years of history.
Located just minutes from your campsite, this high-mesa archaeological wonder was once a major ceremonial center for the Ancestral Puebloans (A.D. 900–1150).
After a day of exploring the monument’s trails and artifacts, return to the ranch to unwind.
A Moment to Linger: Bring your dinner to the hillside as the sun dips low. Watch the light fade over the monument's spires, enjoy the deer and elk migrations, and prepare for some of the best star gazing in Colorado.
Experience the history, the culture, and the quiet of the high mesa—right from your doorstep.
Experience the World’s Deepest Hot Springs
When you stay at the ranch, you are just a 20-minute scenic drive from the town of Pagosa Springs, home to a natural wonder that holds the Guinness World Record for the Deepest Geothermal Hot Spring on Earth.
The "Mother Spring" is so deep that a plumb line of 1,002 feet failed to reach the bottom! Today, these mineral-rich waters feed three unique downtown resorts where you can soak, relax, and rejuvenate.
1. The Hot Springs:
The largest and most famous of the three, located right on the banks of the San Juan River.
Perfect for those who want a view of the town’s historic charm.
A local favorite with a "down-home" western atmosphere.
Morning: Wake up to the silence of the high mesa and a sunrise view of Chimney Rock. Mid-Day: Ride the ranch's 20-acre arena or hike our private trails. Afternoon: Head into Pagosa for a long soak to soothe your muscles. Evening: Return to the ranch for star gazing that is truly second to none.
Take a journey back in time on the (about 45–50 minutes from the ranch) Official Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad, located just a scenic drive from the ranch. Voted one of the "World’s Top Ten Train Rides," this historic coal-fired, steam-powered locomotive has been in continuous operation since 1882.
Experience the rugged beauty of the San Juan National Forest as you travel along the Animas River on tracks originally laid for silver and gold miners.
The railroad offers different experiences depending on when you visit the ranch:
Combine a day on the rails with your stay at the ranch for the ultimate Colorado adventure:
The train is a popular attraction! We recommend booking your tickets in advance, especially during the peak fall foliage and summer seasons.
Just a short drive from the ranch in Ignacio, the Sky Ute Casino Resort offers a complete change of pace width high-energy gaming, family-friendly entertainment, and upscale dining.
One of the most popular spots in the region for family fun, this 24-lane AMF bowling center is perfect for a competitive afternoon or a lively night out.
Test your luck in a vibrant, 24/7 gaming environment owned and operated by the Southern Ute Indian Tribe.
Whether you want a quick bite or a celebration dinner, the resort has you covered:
Combine your casino visit with a bit of local flavor:
Navajo State Park in Arboles, CO, is often called "Colorado's answer to Lake Powell." It serves as the gateway to the 35-mile-long Navajo Reservoir, which straddles the border between Colorado and New Mexico.
The reservoir offers 15,000 surface acres of water (about 3,000 on the Colorado side) and is a premier destination for powerboats, sailboats, and personal watercraft.
Navajo Reservoir is known for both warm-water and cold-water fishing.
Just a scenic 45-minute drive from the ranch, Wolf Creek Ski Area is famous for receiving more natural snowfall than any other resort in the state (averaging 430 inches per year). It is a true "skier's mountain"—uncrowded, family-owned, and legendary for its deep powder.
There is no better way to end a day at Wolf Creek than by stopping in Pagosa Springs on your way back to the ranch. Hit the Hot Springs to soothe your legs, then head home to the hillside for a quiet dinner under the stars.
